This external service bypass enables the uninterrupted isolation and maintenance of your UPS systems in the OP3003-10j series as well as OnPower GRT2 and GRT3 with a maximum load capacity of 16 amperes.
The external service bypass enclosure is the ideal complement for the professional and fail-safe operation of your IT infrastructure. It allows complete replacement or maintenance of the connected UPS system without having to shut down downstream consumers. The robust enclosure is specifically matched to the UPS models OP3003-10j as well as OnPower GRT2 and GRT3. The connection to the UPS system is made via an IEC-60320 C20 appliance plug and an IEC-60320 C19 appliance coupling, both rated for currents up to 16 amperes. On the output side, two IEC-60320 C19 appliance couplings are provided as load connections to supply critical hardware with power safely. An integrated RS232 signal output also allows direct integration into monitoring systems, so the current switching state of the bypass can be transparently signaled at any time. Thanks to the precise switching mechanism, the power supply to the connected servers and network components remains absolutely stable and uninterrupted throughout the entire maintenance operation.
This product is subject to the European directive on waste electrical and electronic equipment and must not be disposed of with normal household waste at the end of its service life. The owner is legally obliged to send the old device to separate collection and hand it in at an official collection point of the local public waste disposal authority or at a specialist retailer. Proper disposal and subsequent recycling allow valuable raw materials to be reused and effectively prevent potential harm to the environment and human health from possible pollutants. Packaging materials should also be separated by material type in the interests of environmental protection and disposed of through the corresponding regional recycling systems.
The installation, commissioning, and maintenance of the external service bypass may only be carried out by qualified electrical specialists in compliance with the applicable electrical engineering regulations. Before any assembly or service work begins, it must be ensured that all incoming lines are disconnected from all poles and secured against being switched back on, otherwise there is a risk of fatal electric shock. The maximum load capacity of 16 amps must never be exceeded, because an overload can cause severe fire damage to the housing or failure of the connected devices. The device is designed solely for use in dry, dust-free indoor environments and must be protected from moisture, splashing water, and direct sunlight. It must also be ensured that the ventilation openings of the housing are never covered in order to reliably prevent overheating during continuous operation.

Accessories and service
An external service bypass makes it possible to service or replace a UPS system without interrupting power to the connected loads. During servicing, the load is safely switched to the public power grid so that critical systems continue to be supplied with power.
The external service bypass is designed for specific UPS models and performance ranges. Before installation, check whether the technical specifications of the service bypass match the UPS system in use. Compatibility information can be found in the relevant product documentation or obtained from our technical support.
