This high-quality external service bypass was specifically developed as a 19-inch slide-in unit for professional rack installation and enables uninterrupted switchover of the connected loads on the OnPower GRT2-R and GRT3-R UPS models. By using this bypass switch, necessary maintenance work, repairs, or a complete replacement of the UPS system can be carried out while it is in operation, without needing to disconnect the downstream consumers from power. The device is designed for a maximum current of 16 amperes and features an IEC 60320 C20 appliance inlet as well as an integrated IEC 60320 C19 coupler for secure connection to the respective UPS system. For connecting critical consumers, two robust IEC 60320 C19 couplers are available on the rear, each rated for 16 amperes, ensuring reliable power distribution in the server rack. The mechanical switching happens seamlessly, so sensitive IT hardware remains continuously powered.

Installation and commissioning of this service bypass may only be carried out by qualified specialists or trained electrical technicians in order to avoid life-threatening electric shocks and short circuits. Before any work is performed on the unit or before switching the bypass switch, ensure that the maximum total load of 16 amperes is never exceeded, as overload can cause severe fire damage or failure of the connected devices. The housing must never be opened, as dangerous voltages can still be present inside even after disconnection from the mains.
